Disaster Relief
Leader: Position Vacant

This is a relatively new ministry (summer 2007) for our Association, as we were led by God to begin with a Chainsaw Recovery Unit. In 2008 we were led to begin the development of a Mass Care Unit (mobile kitchen) that will initially assist in the preparation of 3000+ meals daily. Additionally, our volunteers have undertaken Disaster Relief training in a broad range of related areas: Lay Chaplaincy, Child Care, Water Purification, Showers, and Emergency Shelter Operation.

Annual training (required to participate) is provided by trained MBC volunteers on a regional basis. Check with your Church or the DOM for information as to the specifics of available training, which has traditionally been scheduled in January of each year in the Northeast Region.

We work in conjunction with the Missouri Baptist Convention, North American Mission Board, American Red Cross, and the Salvation Army -- along with local emergency mangement units.
